January 1st New Years Day
January 6th Epiphany. The day of Jesus baptism in Jordan. Processions in coastal towns from the local church to the sea.
March 25th Commemoration of the beginning of the Greek fight for freedom in 1821.
March 29th 2013 (Good Friday) The start of the Orthodox Easter, the most important festival in the Orthodox calendar.
May 1st Labour Day and Flower Festival.
May 21st The Ionian Islands commemorate their unification with Greece in 1864.
August 15th The Feast of the Virgin Mary on the small island of Panayia situated at the inlet to Gaios Harbour.

October 28th "Ochi Day," in commemoration of Greeces historical "No" reply to one of Mussolinis ultimatums in 1940. Parades and wreath-laying ceremonies are carried out at all war memorials.
3rd November (First Sunday) and the 12th December the St. Spiridon procession.
